Open, Install and Close in One Pass.
Utility ploughing feeds conduit or cable into the ground as the machine moves, so long runs go in fast, with no open trench and very little to restore.
Built for distance.
Rail corridors, rural road allowances and cross-country telecom routes. Long linear runs where trenching by the metre stops making financial sense.
One machine, one crew.
No trench sitting open overnight and no separate backfill crew following behind. The line is in the ground and covered as the plough moves.
Rock doesn't stop the run.
Our rock wheel cuts solid bedrock to a full 4 ft depth. Most ploughing contractors stop where the rock starts.
Rail-corridor ready.
Our crews are CROR-qualified, so work inside the rail corridor doesn’t need a second contractor.
Minimal surface disruption
A narrow slit instead of an open trench, so there is far less sod, gravel and asphalt to put back once the line is in.
Faster than trenching, by a lot.
Faster than trenching, by a lot. On the right ground, ploughing covers in a day what open cut takes a week to do.

What we
plough in
Seven utilities, one method, from a
residential service line to a 48" trunk main
Water Mains & Services
Distribution mains and service connections in HDPE or PVC. Residential ties through municipal trunk lines, bored under roads, driveways and watercourses without opening the street.
Sanitary & Forcemain
Gravity sanitary on grade and pressurized forcemain, installed under roads, rail and rivers where an open cut isn't permitted or isn't practical.
Telecom & Fibre
Conduit and duct bank for fibre and broadband builds. Long runs on live streets with tight tolerances and minimal surface disruption through built-up areas.
Hydro & Power
Primary and secondary ducts for hydro and power include road, highway, and rail crossings. Conduits are installed underground to protect cables.
Oil, Gas & Fuel Lines
Fuel and gas installations drilled to the tolerances and documentation standards this work requires.
Intake & Outfall Lines
Water intake and outfall crossings under shoreline, riverbed and wetland, where surface disturbance isn't an option.
Every Sector Has Its Own Rules. We Plough to All of Them.
Ploughed conduit, cable and pipe for municipalities, telecoms, rail operators, developers, utilities and industrial sites.
Municipal & Government
Rural broadband, street lighting conduit and small-diameter water lines ploughed along road allowances, with ditches and shoulders left intact.
Telecom & Broadband
Fibre conduit and cable ploughed over long rural and cross-country routes, at the production rates these builds are budgeted on.
Rail & Transit
Signal, communications and fibre lines ploughed along the right-of-way by CROR-qualified crews working inside live corridors.
Developers & General Contractors
Conduit and service lines ploughed across greenfield sites ahead of roads and paving. We work around your sequence, not against it.
Power & Fuel
Power cable, duct and polyethylene gas line ploughed along road allowances and across open ground.
Industrial & Commercial
Power and communications lines ploughed across large sites such as plants, yards and solar farms, without shutting them down for trenching.

Something Broke. We'll Be There Today
Watermain breaks, utility strikes, spills and washouts don't wait for business hours. Crews across Central Ontario mean we mobilize the day you call, with MOECP-registered spills response and operators who've handled it before.

Utility ploughing installs cable, conduit or pipe in a continuous pass. The plough opens a narrow path, places the utility and closes the ground behind it. Unlike conventional trenching, it does not require a continuous open trench, which can reduce surface disturbance and restoration requirements.
CC Underground can plough utilities to depths of up to 4 feet, depending on the project requirements, ground conditions and equipment being used.
Yes. CC Underground uses specialized rock-cutting equipment for utility installation in solid rock and challenging ground conditions. The appropriate equipment and installation method depend on the site's geology and project requirements.
CC Underground can install a range of underground utilities, including water mains and services, sanitary and forcemain lines, telecom and fibre conduit, hydro and power lines, oil, gas and fuel lines, and water intake and outfall lines.
Installation time depends on ground conditions, utility type, depth, route length and site requirements. Because ploughing can install the utility and close the ground in a continuous operation, it can reduce installation and restoration time compared with conventional open-cut trenching on suitable projects.
Yes. Utility ploughing is well suited to long, linear installations such as rail corridors, rural road allowances and cross-country routes where minimizing continuous excavation and restoration is important.
Utility ploughing generally requires less surface restoration than conventional open-cut trenching because it creates a narrow installation path rather than a wide continuous trench. The restoration required depends on the surface type and site conditions.
CC Underground provides utility ploughing services across Ontario, including the GTA and Simcoe County, with service areas including Toronto, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Barrie, Orillia, Innisfil and Collingwood.
