Plowing

CC Underground can install all types and sizes of utilities ranging from small one inch poly pipe for satellite wire, propane or gas lines, and lighting or water to your garden to larger sizes used for communication services or large hydro services along streets and highways. Plowing involves a hollow blade attached to a machine which vibrates and cuts the earth like a knife while simultaneously placing the product in the ground. The depth and diameter of the cut varies depending on the blade and the service being installed. When we install water services for gardens, or electrical cables for driveway lighting or gates, the depth of plowing is usually 12 to 18 inches and once completed there is little to no evidence of any work being done.

Plowing is the preferred method for installing utilities rather than open trench excavation because of the minimal ground disturbance and the rate of the installation, which can be more cost effective in the end. Plowing is effective in a variety of soil types from extremely wet soils - to hard backed gravel - to soil with some rocks, but not in rocky terrain.
